L’étude E3N, ou Etude Epidémiologique auprès de femmes de l’Education Nationale.
The E3N study is based on a cohort of about 100,000 French women volunteers, adhering to the MGEN, born between 1925 and 1950 and followed since 1990 . This prospective cohort is led by Françoise Clavel-Chapelon, research director at Inserm (UMR 1018). The E3N study is primarily the identification and analysis of the role of certain factors in the occurrence of cancer in women aim for. The work of the E3N team are focused on the study of the relationship between the occurrence of cancer and the characteristics of people and their environment. The research is developed around two main axes:
- descriptive epidemiology that describe the importance of cancer as a function of various parameters aims to (age, sex, anthropometric characteristics, genetic history ...)
- analytical center that aims to study the risks to our environment (tobacco, alcohol, nutrition, sex life, taking hormonal treatments ...)
