Description:

Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes:
An overarching aim of this research group is to improve understanding of the optimal nutritional requirements for health, through an increased knowledge of the metabolic and molecular aetiology of disease, throughout the human lifecycle.
The group’s membership boasts a broad range of expertise, ranging from metabolic, molecular and public health nutrition, to nutritional and diabetic medicine.
Members are renowned for studying human whole body metabolism in vivo by trace-labelling techniques, for systems-based molecular modelling of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, DNA damage and repair, and for the genetic epidemiology of variation in response to diet.
